Vietnam Trip
BACK. yes! i am so back. haha. was suppose to arrive in singapore on the 23rd..but guess wad. none of us was willing to stay a day longer..so here we are.
Let's see. the night before the vietnam trip i had a wonderful 'birthday' party with the np mates. me and clara kinda organized it for our bdays but actually we just wanna meet up with the gurls. love them.
Vietnam. ok..i can't really say it sucks..all i can say is..its rundown. its dirty and er..its rural? I din really have a BIG impression on this country..actually for most of the trip..it was only the history on the vietnam war that really interests me..there is this thing that my family noticed..veitnamese gurls are all slim..maybe coz my sis and I really stood out from the crowd. bleahz.
Visited the jesus mountain..after climbing 819 steps..( my sis and i counted the steps..stupid tour guide said it was 140?!) and then we mounted the steps inside jesus and the view from jesus's shoulders was fantastic..but it was kinda scary too...
then i went to places like the cu chi's tunnel..which was the highlight of the trip..at least to me..
"The tunnel is a well-known historic revolutionary site and an original architectural monument set deep in the earth. it is built on many levels and has a lot of winding ways like a giant cobweb of 200km. blah blah.."(direct from the leaflet i got)
Bascially its this tunnel that the vietnamese dug during the war to fight against the americans..it was pretty interesting and i crawled into one of the tunnels..it was so scary..the tunnel has limited space (since vietnamese people are small built)..and i had to half crawl half bend my back to make my way through..it was dark inside..a place SO NOT for those who is claustrophobic. Anyway that place is worth going...
There was places like the war remnants museum as well..ok there is this freaky thing about this place..in this (not so grand and nicely built) museum there are 6 exhibition rooms. Room 3 was the most freaky..coz it showed all the different ways of punishment..Anyway..there are these jail rooms on show..and it was just this brick room and a thick metal door with a small window. My SMART sister had to peep into that room and freak herself out..and the even SMARTER me had to laugh at her and peep inside to freak myself out as well..i mean they blooddy shit put a fake man with long hair inside that pitch back room..so when we look inside through that small window..all we see from the little light in the room was a head with long hair. wth!?
Anyway i celebrated my birthday in vietnam..can say it sucked. started out with mom pissed at me so she refuse to speak to me the whole day..had buffet breakfast in our hotel..(which was great) then visited that Cu chi tunnel..lunch Sucked...dinner sucked even more..we had dinner on this ship on saigon river..the idea was great.. but the food is shit..ok..the shitty food was still acceptable..but i mean they had this singer shouting into the mike..and the wadever song was just screaming into my ear..and this BIG group of taiwanese tourist had to 'create an atmosphere' by shouting 'yo yo yo' to the beat of the music..and snatching the mike to sing as well..seriously..my family was just DEAD silent at one corner..begging to have a moment of silence..so..before the ship left the bank for a ride on the river..we left the ship. then we went to some small resturant to have a proper dinner..but mom started nagging bout wad she was pissed about..made me cry..so we went back to the hotel. Dad was nice enuff to bring us down to the hotel pub to have a drink after mom went to sleep...i had a pina colada..sis had margarita..and dad..er..beer? well..daddy was so nice..he went up to the stage in the pub ( or was it a lounge?) and sang me a birthday song..he's so sweet...the pianist was quite notty..he played the christmas song and dad started singing to it and then realise it was the wrong song..haha..but anyway he made my day...had a game of pool with sis..wasn't really a game..since dad helped her pushed the balls into the net..then it was it for my birthday.
(thanks for those who wished me happy birthday..u guys made my day as well)
thanks daddy..for trying so hard.
